THE MAYOR OF BOGOT´, FIRA BARCELONA INTERNATIONAL AND CORFERIAS PRESENTED ´SMART CITY EXPO BOGOT´, THE EXHIBITION N INTERNATIONAL THAT PLACES THE COLOMBIAN CAPITAL AS A REFERENCE FOR INNOVATION IN THE REGION.

• Smart City Expo Bogota arrives for the first time in the Colombian capital as an overseas event of the Smart City Expo World Congress and will be held from May 31 to June 2 at the Corferias fairgrounds.
• The leading event in urban renewal will bring together 70 national and international experts will present technological and sustainable solutions, focused on the transformation of the Colombian capital as a smart city.

Bogotá, May 2023. em> Under the motto of ‘Cities that care, cities that innovate’, the Smart City Expo Bogotá 2023 was officially announced, in a meeting with the media preceded by the Mayor's Office of Bogotá. through the Secretariat of Economic Development, Fira Barcelona International and Corferias. The smart cities event arrives in the Colombian capital from May 31 to June 2, with a proposal for spaces for reflection and generation of solutions around public innovation, emerging technologies, energy ;a and environment, urban mobility, sustainable territories, safe cities and economic development.

Smart City Expo Bogotá 2023will take place as a foreign edition of the Smart City Expo World Congress, organized and promoted by Fira Barcelona International, in strategic alliance with the Mayor's Office of Bogotá, the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá ; and Corferias. This first edition includes a congress that includes the participation of 70 speakers, 15 of them international, who will be present during the first two days of the event. Visitors will access an agenda designed around the moment that Bogotá is experiencing, where social inclusion, diversity and sustainability are promoted, supported by the digital transformation.

During the exhibition, enriching experiences will be lived such as success stories, academic and updating content, among them: the Public Innovation Festival from Bogotá, which will take will take place on Friday, June 2, and will address technology-based innovation topics; like this Likewise, in alliance with Asocapitales, the winners of the ICII Smart and Innovative Cities Initiative Award will be announced, in their different categories.

In front of the realization of Smart City Expo Bogotá, Andrés López, Executive President of Corferias, stated: “We have witnessed how the Colombian capital has been betting on development in a comprehensive way. Undoubtedly, this evolution has been supported by technology and innovation. Precisely, with this recognition given to the city, FIRA Barcelona International accepts our invitation to include Bogotá in within smart cities and, thus, carry out Smart City Expo in Bogotá.

Alfredo Bateman, secretary of economic development of Bogotá, expressed ; that “a smart city is not only one that incorporates technology for the benefit of its citizens, but also one that takes advantage of its resources intelligently. We thank our strategic allies, Corferias, the ETB and the Mayor's Office, who have been managers of this process; like this same, to Fira Barcelona International, who created Smart City Expo and put on the table the smart cities congress, which today arrives in our city.
