Createx 2025, the international epicenter for textile and clothing transformation in Colombia

Createx 2025, the most important trade show for the textile and apparel industry in Colombia, which will take place from June 11 to 13 at Corferias, is consolidating its position as a strategic platform for the development, innovation, and competitiveness of the sector. This new edition not only reaffirms its role as a key driver of the national industry but also expands its reach to respond to the challenges and opportunities of the global context.

According to Guillermo Criado, president of the Colombian Chamber of Apparel and Related Industries: “Createx plays an essential role in the evolution and strengthening of the fashion system in the country, facilitating the connection between all links in the production chain. Its impact is evident in its constant updating, the incorporation of technology, and the promotion of sustainable practices that aim for responsible and competitive growth.”

In its seventh edition, Createx will feature a new pavilion exclusively for apparel manufacturers, expanding the participation of key players in the sector. This initiative will further highlight the nation's productive capacity, while promoting solutions aimed at the sector's sustainability and digital transformation.

For Lilian Conde, project manager at Createx: “The event has become a true epicenter of innovation and business. Previous editions have strengthened commercial networks, promoting new technologies, and positioning Colombia on the radar of the international textile industry. This year, we expect more than 160 exhibitors, including a growing international presence seeking strategic alliances in the Colombian market.”

 Internationalization of the Sector

Createx 2025 also projects the internationalization of the Colombian textile sector, facilitating meetings between national entrepreneurs and global buyers through key spaces such as the business roundtable. This will open new doors to exports and strengthen the presence of Colombian fashion beyond borders.

The current landscape of the textile industry in Colombia is marked by a profound transformation. Despite the challenges arising from inflation, declining consumption, and evolving purchasing habits, the sector has demonstrated a remarkable capacity for resilience. Technological innovation, sustainability, and the digitalization of trade have been key drivers for adapting to these changes. The United States imposed a 10% tariff on imports from Colombia, affecting 30% of the sector's exports, but also bringing new business opportunities.
