Fairs and expositions are a great tool for commercialization and promotion. They have the advantage over other tools (direct mail, internet, publicity, etc.) to use contact and interaction with exhibitors, buyers, and products. Fairs are also a great tool of communication which helps the approach to the customer through the direct contact and participation in many different parallel activities such as technical workshops, seminaries, business rounds, food tasting, cocktails, etc. They are the gathering point for suppliers, distributors, retailers, and investors.

Even though the principal intention of every company is to participate in a fair in order to offer its products, there are other objectives that must be considered in the moment of evaluation and participation in a fair or exposition, among these we find:

How to be an exhibitor

The company that wants to become an exhibitor must consult the fair calendar and find the event the represents the sector of the product or products the exhibitor wants to display and / or promote. Once the event is chosen, the exhibitor can find all the information regarding to participation fees and the distribution of available stands through the event’s page or calling the commercial department of the corporation.

The interested companies will receive from Corferias’ commercial department integral advice that will permit a better participation in the event. All of this is according to the proposed objectives, the profile of the company, and / or the products or services that the company offers. If by any chance, one of these factors doesn’t adjust to the commercial development of the event, the commercial department will help the company find a fair that best suits its needs.

Principal activities during participation:

• Fill out the form of reservation and subscription of the official catalogue. Sign it and hand it to the event’s coordinator.
• Make the anticipated payment according to the event that you are going to participate.
• Proceed to sign the rent contract and invoice.
• Attend the exhibitor reunions programmed by Corferias.
• Make the different payments in the given dates.
• Fill out the ID solicitation form which will permit the entrance to the fairground during the mounting, exposition, and amounting of the fair.
• Enroll your company to the business matchmaking if it’s programmed for the event.
• Fill out the forms for entrance of merchandise according to the origin of the products that are going to be displayed. Sign those documents and hand them to alongside the required support to the foreign trade office.
• Make the entry of the foreign merchandise. according to the procedures established by the foreign trade office.
• Ask for and fill out the parking ticket to use during the fair.
• Receive the stand in the given date and time.
• Mount and decorate your stand during the established dates, before the opening and inauguration of the fair.
• Fill out the solicitation form for additional services (electricity, telephone, water, drain, furniture, televisions, internet access, shelves, tables, etc.) that are required for your stand and then hand it to the technical department.
• Pay the service solicitation at the treasury department of the corporation in order for the delivery and installation can take place.

The business roundtable is an instrument to promote commercial exchange, seeking to create a pool of effective contacts that allows entrepreneurs to hold personal meetings better directed and focused on buyers directly interested in their product, in order to generate business, agreements and transactions.

Thus, the purpose of the Roundtable is to contribute to business integration by facilitating business opportunities for entrepreneurs and institutions in general.

In the last 5 years, Corferias has held more than 60 business roundtables for different sectors, using our web application for appointment scheduling, which in an agile and versatile way facilitates the meeting of buyers and sellers, as well as qualified personnel who are available to support the entire process, from registration to the development of the roundtable.

Our registration service is designed for national and international visitors to live the best experience generating productive contacts, through an integral service from the pre-registration web platform to the on-site accreditation; so that in each interaction commercial exchange and effective contacts are generated.

Exhibitors Catalog

We have for you the Official Exhibitors Catalog, a tool which includes all the information about the fair, list of exhibitors with contact information, floor plans, among others.

Our exhibitors are entitled to one catalog per booth and additional catalogs can be purchased during the fair at the information points located at the fairgrounds, or after the fair can be purchased at the Corferias Offices (Plus) located on the second floor of the Hilton Hotel.

Press Room

Within the framework of our fairs and events, we have at the disposal of our exhibitors, a professional press team that approaches national and international media through a press campaign that includes reports and news.

Foreign trade

We provide advice to our exhibitors on customs and foreign trade issues, such as; rules, processes, filling out forms for entering merchandise into the facility, among others. In addition, we offer support in each of the processes carried out in our special permanent free zone depending on the nature of the cargo, seeking smooth entry.

The Business and Exhibition Center of Bogotá, CORFERIAS, was declared a Special Permanent Free Zone, which is why to enter the merchandise into the facility you must take into account the following information:

• As an exhibitor you can fill out the national or nationalized merchandise form for the entry of your merchandise to the Fair in which you will participate.
• The entry of merchandise from abroad without nationalization, either for display or as a sample without commercial value, must be completed by a customs agent, who will be the person authorized before the DIAN to carry out said procedure.
• In accordance with current Colombian legislation, the entry of merchandise as accompanied luggage is NOT contemplated, therefore, the exhibitor must complete the change of regime before the DIAN at the airport upon arrival in the country. In any case, the The exhibitor is the only one responsible before the competent authority if he decides to bring his merchandise this way.

Merchandise that is not legally protected or freely available should not enter the Corferias Special Permanent Free Zone since they can be seized by the DIAN.
